Bo, the tree icon on the bottom row (2nd from the right) posts an image.  Place your cursor where you want the photo.  Click that button, put in the URL (web address) for the photo you want to post, select the text alignment (I've used the baseline, which seems to start the text a couple lines below it), and click insert.

You have to have the photo hosted somewhere on a website.  The easiest is a website like Flickr, where you can upload photos, and they give you a URL for posting the photo elsewhere.

Using a Mac, I was able to copy and paste images directly with Netscape. I have been unable to load images with Firefox or Safari. I was also unable to load images from a PC running Explorer.

That photo is excellent. If I were to caption it, and based on the look on your face, I would say something like "I'm taking a quick hit on my beer, then I'm going in". And Paris is looking a bit jealous too.

    Game 5

Now that was worth staying up for.  Enjoy your four hour sleep, PensBeerGeek.

    Re: Game 5

Wes, fortunately I'm without an appointment until the end of the month (have a class to teach in the second part of the summer semester to pay the bills), so I won't have to be up too soon!

I admit that I felt gutted at the end of Game 4, and that realism had struck me with its cruel hand....all the "nice season, but it just wasn't meant to be" type of talk.

Today was a great start, but I have to admit that the 3rd goal sapped me quite a bit.  We were in a bit of a funk until Max Talbot (whose jersey I was wearing, courtesy of my brother) scored that amazing goal to raise our spirits.

The overtimes were certainly a nailbiting experience (though made a little easier with the consumption of our lucky beer, Edmund Fitzgerald Porter, from Great Lakes Brewing in Cleveland) , but isn't that what makes hockey great?   Both teams gave their all during the 50 minutes of the overtime..I'm just happy to see that Sykora got the goal.   That may have been one of the greatest games in recent NHL memory, if not of all time.  Kudos to Marc-Andre Fleury and his amazing performance, without which the game would have easily fallen to the Red Wings.

So, now all I can hope for is a win in Game 6, with the momentum and a crowd that is certain to be absolutely rabid.   Only after that can we discuss a Game 7.

    Let's Go Pens!!!!!!!!!!

    Re: Game 5

Well, that's me out of the pool . I took Wings in 5, but well worth being wrong to see a game like that. Fleury was unbelievable and you have to hand it to the Pens for never giving up.  Really good to see Malkin get a point - I was beginning to wonder if he was injured or had run out of gas, or just didn't have that extra gear - maybe now he will be feeling a bit more confident and will get some rewards..

Game 6 will be so fun - either the Wings will be a pissed-off, unstoppable machine and roll right over the Pens, or they will be suffering more from the effects of the long overtime (being older) and the Pens will ride the home crowd to a win..

    Re: Game 5

My loser buddies thought Malkin was paid off by the Russian mob. He really has been playing like crap. Also, I think that the Pens got really lucky yesterday. Their puck control was terrible and they really needed (for the whole series for that matter) to put up a lot more shots. I don't want to see a NHL team passing to the other team. It reminds me of my son's squirt team. I guess I also don't want to see a NHL team score on themselves either. And after all that, and going to bed at 1 AM, I got up at 5 for a morning skate only to find that the rink was closed.

Beer Geek, I salute you. Detroit was the superior team but great effort by the Pens and great hockey entertainment (excepting games 1 and 2). Unfortunately i was correct in my prediction of Wings in 6. Pens are very young. We haven't seen the last of them. Cheers all. -MBS

    Re: Game 6

PensBeerGeek, and all Pens fans (my wife included):

The Pens remind me of the 1995 Red Wings.  The Wings blasted through the first three rounds of the playoffs, and then got smoked by New Jersey in the finals.  Since then, the Wings have been to four finals and won four cups.  The Pens are young, now they have gotten experience, and the sky is the limit based on the amount of talent that they have.  Sometimes you have to learn how to lose before you can learn how to win.  The challenge will be keeping them together.

The Pens are in much better shape than the 1995 Wings.  Detroit had to reconstruct the team after the 1996 exit in the conference finals to be less pretty and more gritty (Brendan Shanahan addition, Lapointe and McCarty played more, etc.).  Detroit is still not an overly physical team, but they seem to be physical enough.  The Pens have all the tools in place to be very good for a long time.

Zetterberg's goal was lucky.  You need a break every now and then to beat a good team.  Maybe it was the lucky beer, Shiner Bock (I am completely out of Grasshopper, I need another trip to Calgary soon) that helped that one in.

I am looking forward to next season, it should be a lot of fun.

    Re: Stanley Cup 2008

Mark Messier always said it wasn't the desire to win that drove him, but the fear and loathing of losing.  Hopefully Sid and Malkin feel that..

It was a great final - Pens were outplayed for most of the time, but showed they have plenty of heart.

Also it's nice to see an original Six team winning instead of one of these Southern upstarts.

    Big Smile
